Dancehall artiste Popcaan has reportedly been detained by law enforcement officials after a stand-off at a fuel station in St. Thomas.
A video of the encounter was live-streamed by Popcaan’s shut good friend Jahboot on Instagram, displaying Miss World Toni-Ann Singh within the midst of what appears like a stand-off with law enforcement officials.
Within the video, it seems that officers try to confiscate one of many singer’s vehicles whereas Singh makes an attempt to mediate and diffuse the state of affairs.
“It’s not a superb look, I feel the system must chip in and do one thing about what’s going on as a result of I feel what’s going on I feel Popcaan being focused, I’m not liking it one bit and it’s not trying good,” a member of Popcaan’s staff is heard saying within the live-streamed.
The person provides, “I wish to know why we’re being focused a lot round right here.”
Popcaan was not seen within the video, and there are speculations that he was arrested. There is no such thing as a official report on whether or not the artist was taken into police custody.
Popcaan has alleged prior to now that he was being focused by Jamaican law enforcement officials.
Months in the past, in January, he claimed that Jamaican authorities had reported to the UK that he was related to gangs in Jamaica in hopes that he could be blocked from coming into the nation.
The singer had referred to as out Jamaican authorities in January, noting that he was detained on the airport over the claims.
In response to him, he was stopped within the UK as he was coming from Africa and held for a number of hours.
“I wish to know why somebody with authority in Jamaica ship data to England immigration that I’m a gang chief and I acquired charged with firearm, this isn’t cool in any respect from my very own nation, why I’ve to be sitting in immigration for over 3 hours?” the Unruly chief tweeted.
Jamaican authority had not responded to inquiries.
